Tomorrow morning at 8:30 am we have to be at N's school, to have another meeting w/the teachers, and the school district lady. This time there will also be some other school district people there (at lest that's my understanding). They will tell us if this schools program is the best place for N. Though we already know he's staying, his teacher made a comment on Friday that he was her's starting Monday, so I'm not really worried about it. The teachers all love him in fact they have told me a few times that he's a great kid and I have taught him well.
They love that he
listens and follows directions
eats w/out complaining what he's eating
cleans up before taking something else out(this one is funny cuz I always have to tell him to do this)
can put his jacket on w/out much help(I guess 5yr olds have problems w/this according to the teacher)
pull his pants and pull ups up and down by himself
can put his backpack on by himself
Along w/the meeting, N will be staying all day(9:30-3:30) at school. He has been doing so well there, no complaining about going, and after Thursday when we went to pick him up I know he wants to stay. Thursday, we were running a little late, so when I got there all the kids were on their cotts, watching a movie, having quite time. I guess N had asked if he could have a cott too, so they let him lay/sit on one til I got there. Once I got there he was sitting on the cott watching the movie, I asked him if he was ready to go, and he laid down like he didn't want to leave and after the other days of him not seeming like he wanted to leave yet, I figured we would let him try out a full day of school. We'll see how he does, though I'm sure he'll do fine, I'm a little excited cuz I'll have some extra time to spend w/M, most of the time he's in school now is during her nap time.
I'm also going to try and start doing some Pilates we'll see how that goes. I've really been wanting to exercise lately especially since I've been part-time I don't have my work "exercises" anymore, this included, lifting heavy boxes and carring them all over, climbing ladders, and walking a ton! I had to get M(and me) a new exercises ball anyways(N and Noel killed my first one), and at Walmart they had this "kit" that had the ball, this ring that that ball sits in so it doesn't move so much, some handles, and a dvd on Clearance for $24, where the ball alone was $20 everywhere else. I figured I would give it a shot worse I would be out $4, and I'm sure I've wasted $4 on worse things....Starbuckets Caramel Macciano once a week while prego w/M(though those always hit the spot).
Also, I'm going to take Cake Decorating classes at JoAnn's starting in a two weeks I'm very excited. I've always wanted to take them for as long as I can remeber. About 6 months ago I desided I would finally take the classes, but they have never landed on a day that I can take them, the one time they did the class had already started. But this month it worked out, so that's my birthday present. There are 3 levels total, I'm just going to take the first class right now, and hold off on taking the second class for at lest two months. I have to take the classes when hubby's off work, which means that I can't work those hrs, no biggie to me, but I don't want to upset my work that much and I like to be somewhat nice. The second class will have to wait. This first class is 4 sessions, each one 2 hrs long, and it ends April 1st, just in time for M's party!

Party Time!
Today I got M's birthday supplies! We are totally doing a princess theme. I know I never wanted to call my daughter a "princess", but she so is, I have just broke down. And I know the girl that hates pink(except for Breast Cancer pink of course) has also started to venture into the pink zone. (ok with this party.....I've sort of jumped in to the pink)

Drunks!!
This really has nothing to do w/the kids, but it's very interesting!
Last night at about 2am I wake up to a THUMP, THUMP.... SCREAH! I looked out the bedroom window and didn't really see anything, our cars were fine, and I hear hubby get up and go to the window to so I didn't worry much(he was still up, I swear the boy lives on 4hrs sleep, unlike me that needs at lest 8hrs.) Back to sleep I went, about 1 min later I heard THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, CRASH! This time I jump out of bed and rush to the window and a truck smashed into our neighbors tree, at this point I see some guy look at the truck and start running down the street. Hubby opens the front door as he's dialing 911. I know I'm not going to fall back asleep anytime soon so I get my shoes on and head outside too. The fire department was the first on the scene, which isn't surprising, since they are only a few blocks away. After that the local police came at one point there was 6 cop cars at the scene. Hubby was the only one that got a really good look at the guy, so he told the cops, what he was wearing including a black shirt. They did find the guy, and the guy was wearing a red shirt so they asked hubby if he was sure and he said yes.
Before I continue I'm going to go back and tell you what happened from the beginning. The guy got a flat tire which made him lose control of his truck, doing a 360 into the driveway across the street missing their car by about 2 ft. The guy got out of the car ran to the middle of the street, not sure if he saw hubby looking out the window or another neighbor who was watching him from his front door, but he got back into the truck tried to speed off w/a flat tire which made him fish tail and lose control again sending him across the road into the tree, which if he would have hit even 6 inches over he would have bounced off the tree and hit their car. The guy then ran off to his house where he wake up his roommates, who thought he was in a fight cuz he had blood all over him, and asked him what happened, he told them he hit 2 things. Then first told them he was alone then told them a girl was with him so they got worried, cuz of all the blood which who wouldn't be. The guy changes his shirt(hence the red shirt) and runs out the door, and the cops get him after that.
During all this the FHP finally come(which was less then 30 mins and I had to wait 2hrs when I had mine, but that's a whole other story). They got a statement from hubby and the other neighbor, who saw it all from his front door. They then took the guy and walked him from one cop car to another, one so hubby could see him and two cuz that cop was going back on patrol. At this point the roommates had gotten up and were trying to find the guy and make sure he was ok and this girl. They talked to us for a while to see what happened and ask about the girl. One of the roommates ask a cop if they can get the guys mom's number from him and the cop was like weren't you driving. The guy had told the cop that his roommate was driving, the roommate didn't like that so much, he was like I don't think so. So the other roommate got to talk to the guy(w/a cop) and I guess he told him to call him a lawyer, and he couldn't talk about what happened.
If you haven't figured out the guy had to be drunk, on drugs or both. I'm sure they are going to call hubby to a trial since the guy keep trying to blame someone else, though I hope not! So that was our fun and excitement this morning of course once we went back in the house they still had to wait for the tow truck, so the lights were flashing for at lest 45 mins more which made it a little hard to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Sibling Love
The last few days N has been all about his sister. He's always been good w/her, but now he wants her to play w/him more. Even at the store yesterday he wanted to sit w/her in the front of the cart. I had one hand on the back of the seat and my other on the handle while daddy was looking at something, and N keep trying to push my hands away so I told him he had to hold on to M so he would wrap his arms around her so she couldn't move. It's so cute!! At one point I had her in the basket part and that's where he wanted to be then. The only downfall is that M still isn't feeling good so if I move more than about 2 feet away from her she'll start screaming and crying. N wants to hold her and feed her not me, she wants me.

Valentine's Day
Today is M's FIRST Valentine's. I don't go crazy w/this holiday, both the kids just got something small, N got a toy camera that he keeps playing w/at the check out at Walmart, and M got a little purse/tote that I found at Targets $1 bins. The kids both got Daddy a card (and Mommy got Daddy a card too), N picked out his card to Daddy, he was excited about it had an alligator on it. He had a great day at school today, in fact I don't think he was ready to come home cuz he gave me a dirty look when I came to get him. Really I think it's cuz of this girl at school. Yesterday when I went to get him he was sitting on this little couch w/this little girl and he would look at me then the girl, than back at me like, but mommy! and today they were standing by each other playing w/these heart beads they got and he did the same thing it's so cute.
On other news....M had OT again today. OT is going much slower than PT. She made a little improvement, but not much. The therapist made a comment about how she may have some sensory "issues" w/her hands, cuz she really doesn't like you to touch her arms and hands, she'll pull back. I told her how she is when I'm trying to get her shirts on(she pulls back) this is when I found out that our OT has dealt w/sensory a lot so she helped me w/my BIG question. I think I made a comment about this before, but M HATES to be on her back on hard surfaces, she'll freak out and get all tense. She's even started getting a little bad on the carpet too so I now change her w/her laying on her boppy. I had her try it on our tile floor so she could see what I mean. She goes "does she like swings?" I told her NO, I tried it once outside and she started crying w/the first swing. So she told me a bunch of things to do to try and help her. She put it to me like this if you just fell out of space and couldn't see anything and you didn't know where you were, or if you were going to hit something, that's how M feels when we lay her down, or touch her hands she feels like she's losing control. She gave me a bunch of things to help her "deal" w/the issues. One of the things was that Daddy needs to rough house w/her-I thought this was a little funny since she's a girl, but it makes sense since when you rough house he would flip her and stuff. Another was pull her around the room on a blanket or towel. Pretty much everything she gave me was play stuff that would push her limits so she feels more comfortable doing the things that are affecting her. For now till she learns it's ok, I'll be changing her in the stroller when we are out. One other thing which I found interesting, she wants M to wear her shoes around the house a few hours a day. This is cuz M curles her toes(this is also another sensory issue) when she stands which isn't helping the muscles they are suppose to, her shoes will forces her to keep her toes flat helping her feel more safe, inturn helping the muscles. I know ALOT from one session and we even had to cut it short cuz I had to get N from school. If she's still progressing at the same speed next meeting(in 3weeks) then we are going to go to once every 2 weeks.
Well, I'm off to work on some needlepointing I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day!

Very First Day of School

I didn't want to say anything about M in this post, I wanted it all about N's first day at school, but M has had a runny nose and cough for the last week and a half so I got her into the drs office, just to make sure everything was ok. We were in and out in 18mins the fastest they've ever been in that office. It ends up that M was just getting an ear infection in one ear and the other has some fluids in it, so please, please pray that the meds take care of it and we don't have to go through what we did w/N and his ears.

Day of Emotions
Well, tomorrow is a big day for N and me. Though he doesn't know it or will he really care til he's much much older. His backpack is almost all ready to go (just waiting for Daddy to come home w/diapers and wipes). Amazingly I'm doing really well, I'm pretty excited. I'm a little sad, just cuz he's growing up, but I'm more nervous. Once we get him to school and in the classroom I'll be fine. It's just like when we fly I'm always nervous til we get to the airport and are waiting to get on, then I'm fine. I think cuz there's nothing else I can do to plan or get ready til we get there, and that....I don't want to say it bugs me cuz that's not really right, it's nerve racking I guess you can say. The big thing I want to be sure I do is get a picture of him w/his backpack. I want to get a picture of his first day of school, especially his VERY FIRST, first day of school.
In other news, my brother and his soon to be wife asked me to be in the wedding party, so I'm super excited about that(and honored). I'm sure it will be a cute dress, S has good taste. Well, I'm off to get some sleep.

School Soon
Today we meet N's preschool teacher and speech teacher, they both are really nice. When we first got there we weren't sure where to go. I know I felt totally out of my element. See Florida schools are set up WAY different then Illinois schools. There are no hallways, just covered sidewalks that lead to different buildings. We managed to find the main office, go figure the center building. The lady that is "in charge" of N's file for the school district was there waiting for us, so we knew we had the right building. The school has some good security measures, when you are visiting they take your drivers license, put it in the computer, then it prints out this name badge that has your license picture and name on it.
After all that, we meet the teachers and gave them a quick run down on N, his personality, strong points, weakness, things like that. The meeting was about an hr long, though it seemed so quick. They sent me home with tons of papers to fill out. The teacher was also TOTALLY alright w/N only going till after lunch. Not that she really had a choice, but it was nice that she was so ok w/it. I guess basically after lunch it's just nap/quite time and then some playtime, nothing really "learning" that he might miss out on. They will also help me in potty training him.....YEAH!! That I'm super excited since he hasn't really shown much interest. I'm hoping seeing all the other kids going will get him to want to go more.
A long w/the folder of papers to fill out we also got a list of things that he will need everyday....
Breakfast or $1.25 for them to supply
Lunch or $1.80 for them to supply
Backpack
Blanket for nap time
Diapers and wipes (if not potty trained)
Since this was the only day off daddy had this week we went and pick out a backpack for N, he had to have a full size one size the teacher sends home a folder of what he did everyday. N got to pick out which one he wanted and he picked out CARS, the kid is still a huge CARS fan.
So I'm sure you all are wondering with all this when his first day of school will be.....It's next Monday......it was suppose to be just a 5 day "trial" then he would get reviewed by a district teacher of some sorts to make sure the program is right for him, which at that point he would be out of school till after they say ok, then he would get to go back to class, BUT since he had such a bad time at day care they didn't want to do that to him again, so they will let him stay, plus one of the main teachers that would be deciding is at his school so it will only take a day not a week like normal. Mommy over here is having a little bit of a hard time, I'm happy, excited and sad all at the same time. And don't worry there will be pictures!!(of N....not mommy all teary eyed)
Sorry no 10 month update on M yet....She's been sick so her 10 month pic is going to be a few days late.
