Another Day

My kids are so sweet to each other (most of the time). Today N fell asleep while I was making dinner. It was funny cuz he wanted to bring out his train set so I did and he was making a track with M when I started and a few mins later I went to check on them and he was fast asleep in the chair and M was trying to give him toys...see the tree in his lap and bumblebee toy by his feet. They do these little things all the time, but for some reason I thought I would capture it.

I also wanted to share my exciting find. I have this really cute Santa's cookie plate, mug, and reindeer set. See very cute!
I've had it since I was pregnant with N(ok I got the reindeer bowl last yr), I knew I wanted that for my kids since I worked at Carson Pirie Scott. Well, last yr the plate got broken. I'm not sure what happened I just know it involved N and daddy and the toaster oven. I think I was just so upset about it I pushed it out of my mind, cuz I totally forgot about till I unpacked the Christmas stuff. I could get a replacement, but I have to get it through Replacements.com and it will be a good $23 plus once you add shipping. I was out with N yesterday picking up our weekly stuff(ie cat litter, diapers) and he wanted to go by the Christmas decorations(really I think he wants to go by the Christmas candy more). As we were walking by I saw this really cute little tray and asked N if it was cute for Santa's cookies and he said yes(really he will tell me if he doesn't like something) They had some glasses to that matched too, so for $3.50 I got a new set AND it's plastic so it will not brake!!

One of those days!

Well, last night I had a blond moment, I was trying to sew a wristlet for myself and was on the floor ironing. I have a table top ironing board, but my table top was full with the sewing machine, so I was on the floor. Anywho, I was ironing in the interfacing and pressing the pieces. I went to get up and felt a poke in my hand. It was like if you get yourself with the needle when your sewing. I lift my hand up and I had a needle in it, I didn't think much of it except of course the one piece that has the pins in it I don't put with the rest of the pieces(which was in a pile a foot away from my hand). I pull the needle out and it immediately starts bleeding, I managed to hit one of my veins! So here I am alone with the kids, holding presser on my palm raised above my head "dancing" around the kitchen cuz it hurt so bad. I went into a little panic mode then when I felt like I was going to pass out(yeah that would have been good for the kids to see). I called my friend T just so I could talk to someone knowing that would help she had me take some Tylenol and drink some mountain dew(which if it was anyone else I would have said the same thing, my brain just stopped working then). I now have a nice bruise from it and I can't put any presser on my palm. See got to love it!

Then today, N's little cough from yesterday turned into runny nose and cough along with waking up last night complaining his tummy hurt. He stayed home today and I took him to the dr just to make sure doesn't have a sinus infection too(which he doesn't just a little cold which some children's cough medicine should help). Other than the cough and runny nose you wouldn't know the kid was sick he has been running around like crazy. I took the moment to put him to work. I got him a ornament kit from Micheal's so he could make all his classmates candy cane ornaments for Christmas. I made them when I was little and they are really easy. He did really good with it and did all but 2 by himself(well stringing the beads that is). He could have done them all, but he wanted me and M to help, plus we would have been there ALL DAY. We talked about how he was making them for his friends at school which is the important part to me. If you ask him he'll tell you "I made them for my friends." I'm pretty sure we are going to keep him home tomorrow too since his cough and nose is really bad I don't want him to get anyone else sick.

O'Christmas tree

I put up our Christmas tree yesterday, with the help of N. He got to put on all the ornaments by himself, which he did a really good job. I did have to remind him to use all the tree a few times, he keep trying to squeeze all the ornaments in just one section. He really enjoyed it, he wanted to put up all our ornaments, but still having a small tree and small children my crystal ornaments will not be going up for alest another yr.

It was really funny(Ok I thought it was), I was telling hubby that after Christmas this year we should keep an eye out for a good deal on a new tree since ours is starting to looking a little sad(for a $9 tree it has done really good for 4yrs). Hubby was saying we'll have to see how the sales are, and about 40mins later as N and I are putting up ornaments it starts raining and Hubby goes....I guess we are getting a new tree next yr. I open the box outside so that I don't get any lizards or yucky silver fish in the house and I had left it on the table where it got all wet! Hopefully we can get a sweet deal on a tree after Christmas otherwise it will be another $9 tree for another few years(or maybe I can just stick this one in a garbage bag...I wonder how it will hold up like that?)

Black Friday

Today is the day that the stores are CRAZY! I think I have only gone out shopping MAYBE 3 times and once was with my mom when I was in Jr High or High School it was to get some Tamagotchi's, the year they first came out. I remember getting there about 4am and my mom told me as soon as they open run straight to the toy section, find the bin and get (I think it was 6) of them. Anyways, the plan today was NOT to go out, of course that didn't work out so well. As I wrote yesterday M hasn't been feeling so well, and last night she was her worst. She crying and arching her back on and off for over 2hrs. This morning her fever was lower but still a fever so I called the dr to get her checked out. The dr thinks she has a sinus infection and put her on Amoxicillin and Children's Claritin to help dry up the sinus. She said the drainage is making her acid reflex worse which is why she was in so much pain last night.
Needless to say I had to venture to Target to get the medicine filled and we had 20mins to kill. N, out of all days wanted to walk, not be in the cart(which I've been pushing more for, but today was not a day I was). He's also in the stage where he likes to tell me "I want to look over here!" so he was trying to drag me all over the store in to the crazy sections. Through all of this I did find some killer deals! I picked the kids up Ice Age for $5 and myself The Notebook(LOVE the book and movie) for $4 other than that I was really good and stuck to my "list"-meds and sandwich bags! If anyone did go out I hope you got some good deals.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving today!
We had a good day. I made a small turkey breast, sweet potatoes, and broccoli with cheese for lunch. I had made cranberry applesauce last night to have with it but totally forgot about it till I was putting away leftovers. Hubby was happy cuz he didn't want any and I was going to make him at lest try it for the kids sak....Lucky duck! Around 3 my friend and her family came over. The kids had tons of fun. They even went outside and rode the powerwheels for awhile. Except for M she's been running a fever the last few days due to her 2yr molars coming in and today she has just been fussy. She pretty much was attached to me the whole day. Then we had dessert which I made Spiced Pumpkin Mousse Trifle and T made a Marble Cheesecake. They were both really good. They just left and my kids look like they are about ready to fall asleep so they should sleep good tonight. Let's hope M sleeps through the night tonight. The girl has been waking up coughing at lest 3 times at night...I can't wait til these teeth come through!! I better go get the kids ready for bed and then it's off to caught up on some recorded shows.

Crystal the Bear

Today was a big day(well for me it was)! M and I went to build a bear. Yes we have been there a lot(at lest once a year and every time we go to Chicago), but today was special cuz M got to pick one out. Usually the kids just pick out an outfit or accessory since they both have one that daddy and I made for them while I was pregnant, and then has another one that he got to pick out for his 3rd birthday.
About 6 months ago I got a coupon/gift card for $10 from them. I've been holding on to it til we made it to one(which up til 2 months ago was an 1hr away). Then last week I got a flyer from them that had a $5 off any animal, well we decided since N got the bike we would let her get a bear and outfit, so that's what we did today! And it only cost us $8 got to love coupons! M was cute, I let her decide between two(she had pointed them out before), she grabbed the one and didn't even want to let it go to get stuffed! We did manage to get it stuffed, the lady was really nice and made it nice and squishy for her. Then it was off to pick out an outfit. That was a little difficult, M was pointing at one on the wall and I just couldn't figure out which one she wanted! We finally got one, then it was off to name her......Mommy wasn't doing a good job on coming up with names let me tell ya. Every time I said one, M just looked at me like, what kind of name is that. She finally stopped with the look at Crystal so please welcome Crystal the bear to the family!
I tried to get M to hold her while I took the picture, but she just keep bringing her to me.

First Bike

Today N went to the store with Daddy and Grandpa to pick out his first bike! He was so excited to be getting a bike, he's been wanting one for awhile. As soon as he came home he came running in the house and said "Mommy come see my bike!" Let me tell you, I couldn't come fast enough. Daddy helped him get on his helmet, I got a quick pic of him in it,
then we got his knee and elbow pads on (twice). Daddy and I weren't paying attention to the fact that it made a difference what pad went where till N had them on and we looked at them like, man those knee pads are small! We took it off and on the tag it said Elbow Pad. Yeah N wasn't so happy he had to wait longer, it was a good thing he was so excited to go out riding to really be upset. After we switched the pads he was ready to go!

N sitting on it for the first time(for me that is)

Trying to pedal it

Daddy coaching N

He only was out there for about 15mins, but considering he's never been on a bike before, that's pretty good. He did good for his first time. He still hasn't gotten that he has to continue to pedal to go faster and farther. He wanted to go out later in the day, but it was raining and it just stayed really wet out so we couldn't. All in all he LOVES his new bike!
