MRI Number Two

Sorry this is a day late, the whole thing took way longer than we thought, we will not be going back to that one again.
We got there a few mins before 11:30 which is when the appointment was, she was suppose to be scanned at 12. Once we signed in the secertary said the were running a little behind. It didn't seem to bad right most offices run a little late (by the way she was one of the few nice ladies there). So we sat and waited, and waited. They finally called us back at about 1 o'clock to have M checked out(ie temp, blood pressure). This took WAY longer than it had to. The lady was ok, but mind you by this point M hadn't eaten for way over 14hrs and only had 1 oz of pedilyte before we left, she was getting very fussy and tired. Once that was done we had to sit in another waiting room and wait for the dr to see if we had questions and go over M's information. Though we did find out that daddy is going to have to make her a little ballerina bar w/mirror, cuz they had one there and she was having a ball w/it. At 1:45 the Dr finally came in, said all was good and to get her ready. So the nurse took her from us to get her IV ready....I wasn't to happy about that, but dealt. Then we waited in ANOTHER waiting room til they called us on this phone in the waiting room to tell us she was waiting up.....Or we thought. We had waited about 1 1/2hrs when the secertary lady came in the door to tell us that M had just gotten out and they would call us when she's wakes up. So we waited, and waited, they finally call us and we get to go see her and she was already awake. That didn't make me to happy, but there wasn't much we could do then....I wanted us to be there while she was waking up, that's what happened for her last MRI. That nurse was really nice and friendly. Daddy got M to eat 2oz and they said that was good, and let us go home. By the time we left it was almost 4pm, hubby and I were both really tired, I had a huge headache, so we just picked up food on the way home and vegged the rest of the night. My headache got so bad I had to lay down and ended up falling asleep for an hr. It was a very LONG day. But M did good the rest of the night and today. She has been coughing since then but we think it's just from teething, I did call the dr to be sure and they think the same thing.

School's in the Future

N had his school appointment today, my poor head was spinning for quite a few hours after. I think it went good, thought it was more of an evaluation to see which school and program he should be in. They want him to go to the school down the street-very nice and convent for Mommy. The preschool is a full time program-5 days all day just like a regular school program(ie 1st grade). That part we are not sure about yet. One problem/issue(really the main one) is that daddy's 3 days off are all during the week, so this would really cut into the time he gets to spend w/Daddy. The other issue is how long that is for a 3yr old. It seems like a lot, besides the last month N was in daycare he hated it. He would start crying as soon as we turned the corner towards the center and when I picked him up he would have his blanket and kitty in hand and be pushing me out of the room wanting to go home. We are also not ready to push school on him THAT much.
The school district is really nice and said it could be flexible since 1)it's a voluntary program and 2)it's not really a "real" school(ie 1st grade). On Monday we meet the teacher, learn about her programs, and get to ask her questions. We talked about it(and got some feed back from Cole-thanks sis!) and we are going to just have him go 5 days til after lunch. We don't want him to miss to much time w/Daddy and we feel that's just to much for him. Later, in a few months we may decide to let him stay all day 2 of the days, but for now I think the 5 half days is more than enough. The speech teacher will also meet w/him once or twice a week, at school. Some of it will be one on one other times it will be whole class teachings. Overall I was very happy with how it went a little overwhelmed but happy.
Now I just have to make it through tomorrow and the rest of the week is a breeze!

First OT appointment

M had OT today it was good. The therapist, was really nice and easy to talk to. She said what I've been telling everyone...When you look at her you can't tell anything is wrong, but if you tried to move her arm(or leg) or really watch how she does things then you can tell something is a little off. That was nice to hear. Anyways, my thinking she pinches weird was right on(I just couldn't tell you why before).

Take your first finger and thumb and pinch them together that's normal your fingers are curved and make like a little oval/circle-now straighten both of those fingers and pinch, that's how M does it. It's cuz she's not really using her thumbs (if you did the above then you could feel the difference and how your thumb wasn't really doing as much). She is trying to use her fingers to do everything and using her thumb more as a guard.

I also found out she crawls funny(well, that's what I'm calling it now) I couldn't tell til she said anything...That's way she's the therapist;). M crawls on her pinkie and side of her hand. Most babies(and they are suppose to) crawl using their whole hand. This puts presser on their thumb muscle, which helps make it stronger which then helps to hold heavy things and things in general. Our homework is to massage her thumb muscles and give her toys that make her wrap her thumb around it(ie markers, rattles) and big soft toys will also help(ie squishie balls). M also needs to keep doing her Yoga Ball exercise(she stands up to a Yoga Ball and holds on to it trying to balance), this not only helps straighten the leg and arm muscles(and builds balance) but the thumb muscles too, go figure. She LOVES that exercise anyways so there shouldn't be any problems getting her to do that. The massage will be a little harder since she's not a big fan of you messing w/her arms or hands. She will have OT once a month(that's what Wendy OK'd which is fine I don't think she needs more than that right now). Today I also scheduled her spinal MRI it will be on Wednesday. I'm a little nervous since she'll have to be sedated again, but hopefully we will get some answers. So that's the news from here!

Updates

Today N and M had well visits w/the doctor and we got our favorite one which is good, but it was a little crazy for the poor doctor.

N first
His appointment went really well. He is now 37 in(40th%) and 32lb 8oz(50th%). The doctor's only concern was with his speech, but since we were already working on getting him into the school district he wasn't worried. He did really go w/the exam, did everything the doctor asked and seemed to be having a good old time. N didn't need any shots so he was good to go after that!

Now M
Her appointment also went good. Her hip xray came back normal (Yeah!). She is 29in(80th%) and 21lb 15 oz(90th%). Again the only concerns the doctor had was w/her not wanting to cruise or clanging toys together, but that's what she has the two therapist for so he was happy with that. While we were talking about her, M stood by herself for a good 20sec the longest she's ever gone it's usually only 5sec, that was pretty cool. Also since I last posted she had gotten 2 more teeth. That was yesterday which makes it 5 teeth in 3 days!!! That's got to be some kind of record.

Well I'm off to bed it's late here in Florida and I have to wake up early to clean the house since I just found out on my way to work tonight that one of M's therapist will be here in the morning.

THREE MORE!

For the last 4 days(though the last 2 weeks haven't been so great either), M has been a bear. She will not let me go too far away from her, and hasn't been sleeping through the night. I could tell a few new teeth were coming in, and by Friday I was praying they would hurry up. Yesterday was the worse day yet! She had to be w/in 4 ft of me if not on me the whole day. She was also on Tylenol and Motrin continuously all day. You could so tell when one was wearing off she would start crying and would be even more clingy, I felt so bad for her. Friday night she was waking up every 45mins til we finally put her in the bed w/us so she wouldn't wake up N, then of course she slept for 6 hrs w/out a peep. I of course couldn't sleep at all cuz every time the girl moves I wake up, and she moves A LOT(I wonder were she gets that from*cough*). Last night was better she only cried twice and just needed some Tylenol or Motrin and she was back to sleep. Today I worked, pretty much all day, so it was get up, get dressed, and off to Grandpa's to drop off the kids, then off to work. Needless to say I didn't get to check her teeth, or see how she was today. Well, once I got home, she was in a great mood, so I tried to see if any had come in yet, and she got THREE(with #4 coming tomorrow or the next day) new teeth!! They just cut through so you can't really see see them, but you can feel the sharpness. I can't believe it the poor little thing, she now has 5 teeth!

The Purse

A long time ago(when I still worked at Carson's) I bought this purse and w/it came this little coin purse that was a little mini of the purse itself. The purse has been gone for many years now, but the coin purse has stayed it's a great size. For a long time I used it to hold all the business cards we got. Then N got a hold of it and use to put his cell phone in so he could hang it on a door or cabinet. Then when M came along I used it to hold her comb and hair bows. It was the PERFECT size. For Christmas she got this M that you hang on the wall and it has 2 ribbons hanging down that you clip hair bows to. So I put all her clips on that(and that is MUCH easier to find when I'm trying to put her clips away!!) I didn't want to throw the little purse away so I just put it in w/all the "doll" stuff they have, figuring it was a good size for dolls. M has other ideas.......

She puts in on.
She crawls around w/it on.
And tries to play while it's still on.She does this AT LEST 2 times a day. It's quite entertaining!

Frango's

Frango's o'wonderful Frango's How I've missed you!
Frango's in my family was a VERY special treat. My mom only bought them for my dad on his birthday/father's day and Christmas. The only other time was if we visited my Great Uncle Harry, cuz he lives downtown by the main Marshall Field's, that's were you could get the freshest Frango's. It was always the same kind the one's in the green box(dark chocolate) and 1lb. Tony and I where not aloud to have any unless my dad said it was OK(since it was his present) and trust me they knew if you had one. I swear they would count them. And yes I know I'm not a chocolate person, I will maybe eat 2 M&M's every 2 months and I HATE fudge or Dark Chocolate, but Frango's I will eat....OK only one a day, but still! Back to the story, so you can only get these from Marshall Field's which is all up north......Til this Christmas, when I walked into a Macy's and saw them(they are now sister companies someone bought someone else out I wasn't really paying attention)! At the time we were on a tight budget cuz of the holidays so I skipped them, well Thursday I took the kids to the mall so they could play in the play area and had totally forgot about them. At this mall I always park at the Macy's(not really sure why every other mall it's JCPenny), and as we were walking through they had the Valentine display up, and I just had to get myself a small box. Which by the way, I so know way my mom only got them twice a year the little box was $7!! So once we got home and they were nice and cold(I have no clue why this started, but they are much better from the fridge), I got one and let N have one! WELL.......I think I created a monster......He LOVES them. I've caught him 3 times just today going to try and get one. O'course I'm a mean mommy and only let him have one a day.
Here is one time.
He didn't want to give the box back!
