Words

I know it's been awhile since I last posted. Nothing has really been going on just life. I've been my normal crazy self before a vacation. This time I've been worse and started earlier, cuz of the wedding I want to make sure I have everything for that then add in everything for a normal vacation. I'm really not sure how hubby has put up with my crazy packing planing for the last few weeks and we still have 2.5 weeks to go! Anyways, on to this post, which is another and main reason I haven't posted. I guess I just wasn't ready to really feel how I was feeling about it til now.

As you all know, M has a speech delay(along with all the other delays she's had I saw it coming). Even though she started with a Speech Therapist a few months ago, she still has only about 10 words and 2 phrases. She's such a smart cookie, she can say "sticker" and "I got it" clear as day, but it's those easy words that she just doesn't get/have. She learned to say "duck" and moo like a cow in the last month which mooing was a huge step for her, the only "sound" she would make was RRROOORRR like a dinosaur. She still doesn't do any other "sounds". Even with her big steps, it's getting even harder for me. There is just one word I want to hear, I haven't even gotten a little taste of it. It's always been a little hard that she didn't say it, but it was ok she was still learning, it would come, right. I mean isn't it one of the first 5 words most kids say?! But now as time is passing and she's learning new words, it's getting harder to hide the fact that it's hurting more and more. I mean it's crazy for me to be so upset that my healthy, wonderful, and totally beautiful little girl just doesn't say Mommy. I think it's starting to hurt more, not only cuz she's learning all these other words, but she can say Daddy(which was her 2nd word and at the moment is what she also calls me), Grandpa(ANPA), brother(other), and Nana. I mean I'm with her every day, every moment! It is very sweet that hubby tries to get her to say mommy, and the therapist tried right before her vacation last week, but still she doesn't budge. It just hurts and I hate to admit that not hearing your child say mommy to you hurts so much, but it does. For 18 months I've been waiting, and still nothing. We go places and it's bad enough when people try to talk to her and they don't get anything but baby talk out of her then they look at her like -what's wrong with her she should know how to talk-, but then they say "is that your mommy?" Most kids would say mommy and point....me I get either just a point to me or daddy and a point. I know it sounds totally silly to most of you, but it's true. It's bittersweet to see your 4yr old trying to get your 2yr old to call you mommy!
And that post is why I haven't posted in awhile, it's been bottled up for awhile, wanting to vent, but truthfully, I just wasn't ready to tell the world how I really felt about it. Isn't it crazy how one word can be so powerful!

Loooong Post

Well, it's been awhile since I last posted. We've been really busy and I've been bad about taking my B-12 vitamins so I've been extra tired/exhausted. Last weekend we had all the cousins down here to visit. The kids LOVED it, mostly N, he had a ball with all of them. M, she's at the age that she likes to play alone a lot so she didn't really play with them much, besides being the youngest. She still loved having her girl cousins around anytime she would see T or Z, she would get all excited and say HI!! it was cute! It was great to spend some time with them all. I miss being a more involved Aunt:(!

M playing in the grassM trying to get in the houseA really cute pic of M looking off in the distanceM hitting N cuz he's hugging herM giving him a hug bad to say sorryOk I'll be good of the picture now
Last week was also crazy, but more my own fault. I was so excited about everyone being down here and Easter, that my weekly shopping trip was not very productive. Normally I make a good list and do it all in one shot, maybe having to go out one more time that week to pick up something I missed or a changed meal. Well, that trip I didn't have a list and just got the things I know we needed and ended up having to go to the store pretty much everyday, cuz I keep forgetting things *sigh* it was a pain! Then add in that our Walmart(where I do my grocery shopping) is remodeling so every time I go things have moved so I end up having to walk every isle, and that didn't help in the whole forgetting things either!

This week is much calmer. I also feel great cuz it's almost time to go to Chicago and I feel ready to go, everything is in order!

Some little things that have been going on around here...

Noel had to go to the Vet Monday, she's been losing hair on her ears and getting this weird blood spots(it's like if you stuck her with a needle till she bleed a little). She's gotten them for at lest 2yrs, but we always chalked it up to her and Tigger playing(they sometimes got a little rough with each other). It was always just a little poke spot and was gone within a day and we wouldn't see another one for a few months so we never worried. Well, now that we don't have Tigger anymore, and it's happening, it's something else so we wanted to have it checked. It ends up she's got allergies, and it's worse this time, cuz we have a really bad allergy season down here right now. Go fig! We can find out what it is for $450, but we opted out since it's not hurting her(and the vet agreed, she was really funny about it~it's not hurting her I wouldn't worry).

M "got" her big girl bed. A few posts ago I wrote how we where getting her a twin bed, well that fell through. It was taking a long time to get it, and N kept "stepping" on M when he woke up waking her up, which is not good, the girl is cranky when she doesn't get her sleep(yes just like her mommy)! We ended up just converting her crib to a toddler bed, and she loves it! She even got some new bedding for her birthday, she's very happy. I still have to get a bed shirt for it so I can hide stuff under it, they where just out of it at Target the day we picked it up.

And last my cute kids!!! With our tax return we got the kids this really nice dual portable dvd player for the car. And we LOVE them. Well, we where able to get cheap plane tickets and a cheap rental car, so we are flying now....but our dvd player doesn't have a built in battery. Yeah I know I was a little upset I didn't even think about looking at that, but we really didn't think the prices where going to go down so much. I had found this cheap dvd player a Walmart and I went to buy it yesterday, and right next to it they had a really nice 9" for only $10 more. So for $90 I got a almost $200 dvd player. I was so excited. I charged it up and put in a movie to make sure it worked(I didn't get the warranty, so I only have 15 days to return to the store with issues). N saw it and was like "the car tv is in the house?" (that's what he calls the other dvd players) So I got out their headphones and let them watch it for awhile...worked for me I didn't have to watch it and make sure it worked, I moved on to the laundry!

M's Party

Today we went to Build-A-Bear for M's party! It was really nice and fun, I didn't really have to do anything except keep an eye on where my kids where. Hubby was in charge of taking pictures and I have to say I'm very proud of him. He managed to take 48 in all and only one bad one(though he would have said it was good cuz it was of my butt lol). Usually I only get a few pictures from him~he just doesn't like to do it, so I was very happy.

The lady said that they all where really good for being so young. She told me normally that age is all over the place. That would have just been M she didn't really participate very well. But she loves the getting the outfits and accessories the best. I do have to go back tomorrow cuz M got a special addition one that's suppose to come with a pin and I didn't notice it didn't have it till we got home. And it was so busy(and M was ready to go) by the time we where done that I didn't let the kids go back and use their gift cards. It works out cuz we got coupons with their "goodie bags" so they can get a little extra.

She turned TWO!

Today my little girl turned two. It was a weird day, hubby got the day off, but helped his dad with his air conditioner so it was just M and me most of the day. Even thought I know and kept telling her she was the birthday girl today, it didn't really seem very special. I was already feeling bad about not getting her balloons since she isn't having a party at home, and then with it just not feeling right in the morning it made me feel even worse. So after I picked up N from school, him and I went to the party store and picked her up some balloons. She was so excited and happy about them when we got home.

M and her balloons(sorry my batteries were dying so no flash)
N decorating the room for M
Hubby was done helping his dad for the day so I made dinner then M opened her gifts.

And then it was time for her cupcakes.
She blow them out all by herself
She seemed to have a good day I hope she thought she had a Great Birthday. Now it's the wait to Sunday for her party which I know her and N are really looking forward to.

Big Girl

In a few days M will be getting a twin size bed. I'm getting it from a friend of mine that has it in storage so once her hubby gets it out we'll get it. Anyways, yesterday I decide to take her mattress out of her crib and lay it on the floor to get her use to the idea. She thought it was cool, especially since I had put it inside her tent. Nap time was a little rough, you would think cuz all she wanted to do was play~wrong! She was just screaming and crying, after five minutes I thought ok, I'll put her back in her crib, maybe cuz the crib is still up is the problem. Nope, she managed to climb out of her crib(which she's only done one other time), and managed after a few mins to open the door(I always close it for nap time so it's quite in there). I ended up putting it back on the floor, she would have just climbed out again and gotten hurt. I had to put up the gate at the door to get her to stay in there, but she even pushed that down twice. After 20mins she finally just laid down and napped.
How I found her once she finally took her nap

Bedtime went really good. She did want to sleep with N in his bed which was super cute cuz N wanted her to too. He put a pillow in the middle of the bed so she had the top of the bed and he had to bottom, and that's how they fell asleep. I did end up moving her before I went to bed cuz her legs where totally off the bed and I didn't want her to fall...that would have been a great way for her NOT to want her new bed. But she slept the whole night and even this morning I went to get her up and she was just playing inside N's tent.

Today's, nap time was also a little rough, but a LOT better then yesterday. She cried a little, but didn't try to get out or anything, and it only lasted a min or two. I can't wait for her to get her bed she's going to be so excited. I guess this means she's officially out of the crib. I'm so happy for her, even though this really means she's not a baby anymore, I'm happy not to have to lift her up into the crib anymore the girls heavy!
