Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween today! The kids had a great day. At school N got to make cookies and they learn to trick or treat. I had gotten all the kids little monster books for Halloween(I just love targets $1 bins!) so the teacher had all the kids go over to N at the table, knock on the table, and say "trick or treat". Then he would give them a book. I guess N thought it was the greatest. After school we went to my work to get my schedule for next week and then headed to the mall to eat dinner and trick or treat.

They had a great time, N was great he walked the whole hr, the little trooper! M pretty good, she just sat in the stroller the holding her bag. She didn't really get the whole thing just that there was candy in the bag and she keep trying to eat it, so I finally gave in and let her have a lolli pop. Thankfully she takes her time with them(unlike N that will just eat them in two bites) so that lasted a good 15mins. But of course about 20mins later she wanted another one and started to help herself to one that still had the wrapper on....not that that was stopping her at all. So I let her have that one too. I know bad mommy:) N got TONS of candy, I'm so glad I didn't let everyone give M some too, otherwise we would have had way more.

N and M just getting to the mall
Playing in the play area till the trick or treating started

N showing off his candy after the first few stores

N getting some candy

After the hr of trick or treating

All the candy they got

The kids pumpkins and bags filled with candy

M enjoying her third lolli pop of the night

N enjoying some candy too
And amazingly they went to bed really quick, I guess all the walking and playing wore them out.

Ponytail

Just wanted to share some exciting news thought I think most of you will be as unexcited as hubby was this morning....I think it's a mommy styling thing:). Anyways, I managed to get ALL of M's hair into a ponytail today. Though it wasn't the prettiest (I just used my fingers not spray and a comb), she still looked so grown up. Thought will her fine hair it did start to fall out after nap time, but that happens with every style during nap. Of course I did take pictures so I could remember this day.

First Official Ponytail!
Now doesn't she look like one of her cousins in these two pictures?

And this is N transforming a bumble bee into a car for M.
What a nice brother!
I also wanted to share some other pics I took of M the other day that just uploaded today. I found some dress up shoes on clearance the other day so I picked them up for her since she LOVES putting on our shoes. This is her trying to walk in them. Cuz of the high heel she was having a little bit of trouble, but she was laughing and smiling and wouldn't take them off even though she couldn't go anywhere without holding on to something.

Results

I know in my last post I said I would not comment about anymore tests, but I feel that I'm just leaving people wondering and worrying if I don't at lest give the results of this last test. I dont' feel it's right to do that so I wanted to as lest give those to everyone. The tech said it looks like she just has a weak gag reflex. Which is great news, this means that she'll stay on the reflex meds and hopefully out grow it.

My End**edited

I started this blog to make it easier for me to tell family about the kids and to be an outlet for me to feel like someone was listening to me, but in the last few months I've just seem to be giving myself more headaches. So this post it will more than likely be my last. Before I end I just want to clear up something since some out there feel that I put my daughter through tests for no reason. And though I know this will cuz some uproar, I'm putting my feeling out there cuz right now I'm to upset to call and talk to anyone(so fyi just leave me alone for a few days please).

First we have wonderful drs for M and yes my poor daughter has had many tests in her little life. Do I like that fact NO. And I know that half of you out there think I'm crazy and there is nothing wrong with her, I can respect your options and for the last year have been silent. I wish every day that I could say my daughter wasn't delayed and that I'm wrong, but I'm not. I also thank god everyday that it's mild, and she'll be able to lead a pretty normal life. The other reason she seems "normal" is because I was the one that pushed to have her checked out(not any drs) because my mommy instinct told me to, so she was able to have therapy early. As far as the UGI(or swallow xray as the dr put it), you all may not agree with me, and I really don't see why I have to explain myself but I will
1)she barely feels pain, so I(having a GERD and finding out cuz I was choking on food) want to make sure it's not that bad.
2)yes she doesn't sleep through the night(though with the new (acid reflex)meds she has been)I KNOW that it wasn't just cuz she doesn't and that something was wrong. I've heard millions of stories of it even a dr telling me, but I KNOW that's not why.
3)Her maybe having to drink a little yucking drink for a few mins to make sure that her reflex it's that bad or finding out later that she has cancer cuz her reflex was that bad and we didn't do anything about it is way worth it to me!

***After having a nice long talk with hubby last night I've decided I need this blog to vent and that some people(like my grandma) really look forward to new posts. So I've decided to continue, but I will not be writing about any more dr appointments(except well appointments since that's all normal stuff and it's fun to see how much they've gain). I will just be writing about my silly kids, and the silly and crazy things that happen around here.

GI Appointment

I managed to get M an appointment with the GI dr today which I was not excepting, I figured it would be two or three weeks, but since the office by us isn't his main office I guess it's not as busy or we just got lucky either way I was excited cuz that meant daddy would be able to come. He doesn't get to come to many appointments cuz of work. Her appointment was at 1:30, at first the receptionist was really slow, we waited a good 5mins before she called us and there was only one other family in the waiting area! Not really sure what was going on there, I over heard her complaining about another coworker so I think she was having to do their work along with hers. Anyways, we got in and meet the dr. He's really nice, he totally understood my concerns for wanting to have M check for bigger reflex issues. He even made a comment that the kids that had reflex and didn't get sick were usually the ones that it worse. He wants her to have and UGI xray sometime next week or early the week after, and we will see him again on Halloween. And as a bonus for hubby the dr is a major gamer just like him so they had a lot to talk about after the appointment.
As a side note we found out last night just how much M's new meds are helping, I forgot to give them to her yesterday and she was up have the night screaming and crying til at about 2am I realized I had forgotten to give them to her.

18 Month appointment

Today M had her 18 month appointment. It went really well, in fact the dr really didn't have much to say just "sure", "great idea", "I see you've got that covered". We already know she's behind in milestones, so that wasn't a big surprise. The only thing he really had to say was he wanted her to be on whole milk til she was 2 since that has more vitamins and since her brains still developing he wanted her to get all the extra she could. I did ask about getting a referral for a GI(reflex) dr and also a developmental pediatrician so he gave me some names and numbers for them. Our therapist recommend us seeing the developmental dr, in hopes that it could speed up the process of what's "wrong" with M and if there may be anything else we will have to "watch out" for. And the GI dr is just for my mind sanity, I have GERD, and since M's pain tolerance is pretty high I want to make sure it's not any worse then we now think it is. So tomorrow I'll be on the phone trying to get appointments. Anyways, on to the fun stuff....M is 32 3/4 inches tall(80th percentile) and 26.1 lbs (75th percentile). Still in the high percent, but it did come down a little for 95%. She had two shots one HepA and the other the flu shot. Tomorrow I'm taking N in to get his flu shot since he's in school I'm not taking a chance! Besides Grandma would be upset with me if I didn't :)!

I know two posts in one day!! I'm going to enter M into a photo contest so today(I was having a good camera day:)!) I took some pictures I'm in love with one but don't think it will really work for the contest. I'm going to try some more tomorrow, with daddy home it may help so I'm not trying to chase the girl down to get a smile!
