Three C's

Cakes

Last night was my last Cake class, at lest for quite a few months. I loved taking them, but I'm so tired of frosting and being gone ALL day on Tuesdays. This course was a little different then the first course. This time we only made one cake and it was for the last class, all the other weeks we made flowers that we let dry over the four weeks.

Here are the cakes.....

They turned out really cute. I love the basket weave and rope, I'll be doing lots of those :)! Everyone in the class loved my hula girl. We were suppose to do the blue birds(like on T's cake), which I did at the second class like everyone else, but I was moving them one day and stuck my finger right in them, which they then looked terrible, so I decided to make the Hula Girl.

Colds
To put it simple we are all some way sick in this house. I just have a runny nose and cough at night(both have been lingering for about 3 weeks now). N's also has a runny nose and cough, he started today not eating as much so he's on Children's Cough and Runny nose. Hubby's sick again, and finally went to the dr yesterday, which the dr thinks is allergies-I've only been say that for the last 2yrs since he's gotten sick this bad about every 6 months or so. He's on all these meds to help, which seem to be working, he goes for a blood test Friday to figure out what's wrong for sure. Then we have M, who also has been hanging on to a runny nose for the last 3 weeks, till Monday night that is! Monday she started being really fussy and running a lower fever. Yesterday she was really clingy and not eating much, I called the dr to see if we needed to bring her in, she said if she still had the fever on Friday call and get her in, but it was more than likely just this virus that's going around. The poor thing has been on Tylenol and Motrin for about 3 days now. This morning her fever got really high and she just didn't look good, so we took her to the Er. So after a few hours she ended up being dehydrated and having a double ear infection along w/the virus that's going around. She's doing better now, still really clingy, and not eating much, but we got her drinking Pedilyte which really seems to be helping. She's also on some meds for the ear infections. Just be happy you all don't live in this house to cuz you would be sick too :)!

Cubs
Can I say I love My Brother and S!! Now you all know I really don't like to brag about who got the kids what or anything like that, we are just thankful for all the gifts we get, but this one I have to just a little, cuz of what it is! My family are big Cubs fans and hubby, well, he goes back and forth between the Cubs and Socks basically he's a Chicago team fan as he puts it. Every time we go home to Chicago, I always look for something Cubs(ie shirt) for N and have never found anything that I liked and wasn't like $50. It's just one of those things, like I had to get N a Bears jersey for the Super Bowl, we have to keep our Chicago pride right!? The other day T called me to ask what size the kids were in now, so I told him(knowing he found something they liked for the kids). Today I got in the mail these......

N got a jersey

M got a cheer leading outfit
(the bloomers say Cubs on the butt-how cute is that)

I was so excited. I am so getting the kids pictures done w/those outfits on. I can't help it I'm still a Chicago fan at heart!! Just like "pop" I'm not going to change to "soda" no matter how much the Floridians complain :)!

Family Day

Hubby took off today using one of his many personal days. I pick on him about that all the time cuz I never got personal days and he has like 7 or something crazy and that's not including his vacation. So he took off so he would have 5 days off since his schedule changes this week it worked out that way. We decided earlier on in the week to go today since it was suppose to be the nicest day and told N's teachers so he wouldn't get "in trouble". I've been really wanting to go to this beach that a few girls at work have been telling me about and it's not far from the house. So off we went to the beach, it is a nice one, and it was a great day not too hot, only downfall the water was ice cold. We only got our feet wet. Ok, M did end up falling into in when she was trying to "grab" for the water, and ended up getting her whole side and hat wet. It was a nice size beach, not to huge and you didn't feel like you were getting trampled on every time someone walked by. We found a nice little spot a little farther from the water then I would have liked but I opted to leave the kids tent in the car (cuz it looked really busy) and it was the only "shady" spot. It just meant that I had to walk a little farther w/N to get him water in his bucket! We had a great time, the kids had a blast. N has been to the beach 3 other times(his first he was already 1), so he knew what was going on. M has only been on other time and she was only about 5 months, she liked it right away(kept trying to eat the sand) then I took her to this little hill I found to take some pictures of her and she started walking, well then she was having a ball once she figured out she could walk. I got some really good pictures(and hubby got a GREAT picture) here you go.

M in her new (old school) shades!
She kept trying to take them on and off

N dumping sand on top of himself
(he did this a few times through out the day)
N being cute!

And my FAVE M and Mommy
(this was not a posed pic! Hubby had taken a few of us and I thought he was done, so I was trying to get M to put her foot in the water and this is what you get!)

M's Boo Boo

Today M had her first BIG boo boo. After dinner N put his blanket over his head and was walking into us, laughing having a good old time. He loves this game haven't figured out why yet, but whatever floats his boat right! He tried doing it to M once and we told him he could only do it to her when they were in the living room(on the carpet). Well, after awhile I was in the kitchen cleaning up, M was playing with something(I don't really remember), and N came in and bumped into her(doing the whole blanket thing). He knocked her right into the cabinet! I knew she at lest hit the cabinet door, but not sure about the handle or not. She of course started crying, I picked her up and sat on the chair w/her til she calmed down, not even 2 mins later she was fine stopped crying. At this point I finally got a good look at her and she has a 1/2 inch cut in the creese of her eyelid on the outside corner. It wasn't really bleeding, and daddy said it didn't need stitches so we cleaned it out(with no peep from her might I add!) And off she went to play some more. That girl is one strong cookie! If that was N he would have been crying/upset for at lest 10mins and trying to clean it would have been lots of...."that hurts" and tears(though he would let you do it)and it's hurt free stuff. I'm sure she'll have a black eye tomorrow or at lest right in that area will be black and blue.

I totally didn't update on Madison's therapist this week my bad so here goes. She had both of them on Monday. She has graduated from Physical therapy!! That's right no more physical therapy, it's a little sad, cuz we love that therapist(and our other one), she did tell me to keep in touch and call her with updates on her. Also if we think we need her to come out in like 3-4 months just call her, she's keeping her file open till she's at lest 18 months just to be safe, if anything arises. As far as Occupational therapy goes, it was good, she's making small head way with her sensory issues. That's going to be a long road, we are basically pushing her "fear" an inch at a time. On a good note it doesn't really seem to affect her walking to much. OK technically it does, but since Madison's such a smart cookie, she's learned that when she's "losing" it, to just stop til her balance comes back. It does affect her when she's excited, cuz she just tries to go and ends up falling, then she laughs at herself! The therapist did give me some more "intense" exercises to do to push the sensory a little more. Also, her left thumb is not getting any better, so the focus is to really push her to use the left hand more, she gave me some fun exercises to try and do with her so we will try and start that this week. The therapist was trying to get Madison into the sensory/OT room at the All Children's center, but she doesn't think she'll qualify. See the "problem" is that since we caught this so early we have been able to work with Madison and pretty much keep her on track with her age, now the "down fall" if you would, is that to get into the room she needs to be delayed by the sensory issue, or with an Occupational area, which she really isn't cuz we've been working with her. The bottom line is it just means that she will not benefit from all the cool sensory toys and having more specialist, she'll just have to deal with Mommy and Daddy trying to learn what we need to do and ALL her toys, poor thing :)

M's birthday party

M's party was lots of fun. The weather channel was saying it was going to rain(60%) all week, and it didn't! It was a great day. A little warm not too terrible, and it was right off a lake so we got a great breeze every once in a while and that also helped a lot. It was sort of funny, at entrance of the park there is a big chalk board that lists all the shelters and then they write what is going on at what shelter. So it should had said at shelter 10 Madison's Party. Instead it said Madisoa's Party. I thought ok someone just messed that on up.....nope, there is another big chalk board at the shelter that they write what's going on and the time. And that also said, Madisoa's Birthday Party. Silly people I guess they don't know how to spell Madison! I know everyone wants to see how the cupcakes and Smash cake came out so here you go.......

The Cupcakes

This was a VERY SLOW process! Everyone else got and ate their cupcakes before M finished hers.
The First TouchSmiling at DaddyFinally Taking A Bite
I ended up having to give her an ear of itDeciding to really get into it
Really eating it now
Licking her fingers at the end
Though she never really did "let" go of it. I had to take it from her

M having a lunch date with M

Here's some pictures of the kids playing at the playground

S and M

Here is one of M and I riding down the slide(her first one) and N cheering her on. M wasn't so happy about the slide.....or the swing, poor thing just doesn't enjoy parks at all

And this was just really fun! Do you see it!?Yes it's an alligator! A little baby one, but it was just about 6 ft off the "shore" from where our Shelter was. I just love it when I get to see alligators in the wild. As soon as I found out I grabbed the camera and was like where his he!

Happy Birthday Princess!

Happy 1st Birthday M!!

Yes today M turned ONE! We didn't do much, in the morning I took M's last monthly picture and then she got to open her gifts from Mommy and Daddy(she'll get to open N's at her party.) Then I spent most of the day baking and decorating all the cupcakes for her party. I only have a few hours tomorrow morning before I have to go to work, so today was the only time I had. I also decorated her smash cake, which turned out pretty good not quite the masterpiece I was hoping for, but it will work. M got to play with Daddy all day so she was happy. Here are two of the pictures I took this morning for her 12th month picture(and her newborn picutre), She wouldn't just leave the bear sit like in all the other pictures, sinker butt, O'well.

Just Two Days Old

And now at a year oldHappy birthday my princess, I hope you enjoyed your first year. I can't believe how much you've grown. You weight just 7lbs 14oz when you were born and now you are at a little over 23lbs. You are really starting to talk, I swear you totally understand us. Half the time I think you really are answering questions. You say Mama, Dada, No, and Yeah. And the BIGGEST thing, you started walking just 4 days before your birthday! I really didn't think you'd be walking by your birthday you were being really stubborn, but you did it! I'm so proud of you and hope next year is just as good as this year.

Also here is a small video of her walking. This was also the first time she had shoes on and was trying to walk she did really good.

Last Cake Class!

Tonight was my last cake class(for course I that is). It was a blast, but a little sad for T and I. See everyone else in the class is taking course II right away and it starts next Tuesday. Over the last two weeks we have really been getting to know the rest of the ladies, so it's sort of sad. We even found out tonight that two of the ladies also have 3yr olds. How crazy is that! Anyways, T and I want to take course II, but were thinking about waiting, but tonight decided to see if we could pull off going to the one that starts next week. Hubby said he was fine w/it. The class cuts into our family time, since N's started school it's been hard to find time, but next week he has spring break and in 2 weeks we will have every Saturday Family days, since hubby and I will both be off so it will not be so bad. T just has to make sure w/her hubby. He's been really busy at his work that it's been hard for him to get home on time and if we take the class then he has to make sure he can get the kids from the sitters so T didn't have to so she can make the class on time, for another 4 weeks. I'll find out tomorrow if we'll be taking it or not!

Anyways, on to the cakes......
