New Corner

Yesterday~ok really I've been thinking about it for a week now, but yesterday it really hit me. I got this thought, since M didn't get into the pre-k program at the school, and we can't afford a private pre-k program, what am I going to do? I work with her a little here and there on her letters, number, and colors, but nothing really planned, it's more just working with her when we see them or playing. So a few days ago one of the blogs I follow she was talking about homeschooling, which I've hear about(really who hasn't), but I think cuz she's doing it for kindergarten and pre-k, it sort of stuck in my mind. Then yesterday my friend C was saying how she wanted to work with her son more on writing letters cuz he was really getting curves. And it was like BOOM!! homeschooling M! So I started with that looked at one of my mommy sites and found this group of moms that homeschool prek. They gave me lots of great ideas and websites to find craft projects and worksheets. That's when I decided that I would "homeschool" M pre-k. I say "homeschool" like that cuz I don't think how I'm going about it is really true homeschool, or maybe it is? I don't feel it is cuz I'm only going to work with her on a few things and make it pretty light mostly crafts and coloring, maybe a few trips to the store to look at things that go with what we are working on.

My plan!
Each week for the next 4 weeks we are going to work on one letter, number, and color per week. Just doing one project/thing per day that goes with each thing. Then when N is off school(we'll have more time at home) we'll do two letters, one number, and one color per week. N loves craft projects so I know he'll have fun, I'll let him cut his own letters out, make it more challenge for him. I also got both kids 3 ring binders so after they color the letter/numbers they can put then in there so they will have an alphabet/number book by the end of the summer. Once school starts again I'll go back through them with M doing different projects and maybe adding a shape and animal to the week too. I'm going to try and post about our week every Friday or weekend, hopefully to get other people ideas like how I got ideas from other bloggers(I'll post links when I do the projects :)!)

I'm also wanting to try this to see if I can homeschool. N takes after his daddy in learning. He picks things up quickly(most of the time) but he needs to be challenged, and if he's not he loses interest and starts saying he's tired or "acts up"(pretends to be bugs or super heroes). He's starting it already at school now, us and his teachers can tell he's ready for kindergarten, cuz he want to sit and do work he doesn't want to do the little kid songs any more. So we really want to make sure he's challenged in school so he doesn't go down the path like hubby and get himself in trouble. If it starts looking like it we may homeschool him, it's just something we have out there just in case we need it. Thankfully his teacher now realizes what he needs and has already had a meeting with the kindergarten teachers about hopefully getting him in with this one teacher that is harder(challenging for him). Well see, right now he's not really liking school all the time cuz of it~well that and that he's getting a baby brother, he's been wanting to spend a lot of one on one time with mommy and daddy. We think he's trying to get all his time in now cuz with M, she was such a needing baby always wanting to be held, he didn't get a lot of one on one time with me.

Our new addition is....

Yesterday I had the ultrasound to check on the baby make sure everything looked good and measured right. It was also the ultrasound to see what the sex of the baby is.

When we first got there the tech asked us if we wanted to find out the sex hubby and I said yes. Of course I was a little more admit about the yes lol! The tech told us(I think it was more as a pre-warning) that it would still be another 25-30 mins before we would find out since the legs are the last thing she measures. I should say that that morning N didn't not want to go see pictures of the baby, but I told him I really wanted him to go with me, so he went though not very excited about it. So the tech starts gels up my tummy, and then starts looking around. N at this point goes "what's that?" The tech tells him the baby, now he gets excited! He said "that's your baby mommy?"(he's still using the "your baby" lol). M is interested, but the tech hadn't really gotten a good profile picture that you could really see a baby, so M was just copying her brother's oo's and cool's. The tech is going about measuring and labeling things for the dr and then about 10mins in I hear hubby go "That looks like a boy to me!" I was looking at the kids at that moment so I look up at the same time the tech goes "Yep that's a boy!" So I told N "looks like you get your brother", him and daddy high five it was so cute and funny! Needless to say that this little one is just like his brother and wanted to make sure we know right away he was a boy lol! Right after that the tech got a good profile and you could hear M go "look a baby" then she looked at my tummy and goes "mommy the baby's in your tummy?" like she finally understood were this baby that we are always telling her about is. The kids did really good after about 15mins they were getting a little antsy so hubby gave them some candy I had in my purse to keep them entertained. The baby for the most part behaved and the tech was able to get all the measurements without much issue. She did have a little trouble getting a good shot of left side of the baby's heart, cuz of the way he was laying, but she finally got it. The ultrasound only took about 35mins and they schedule it for an hr so that's pretty good I think.
So to conclude we will be adding Logan Anthony to our little family in September! We are so excited!

Then There Was Three

In Sept our little family will be growing to three kids! I'm still a getting over the shock of having three kids by the end of the year.
My whole life I've always wanted 4 kids, hubby didn't really want so many he always said maybe 3. After M he still wasn't sure about having at lest one more like I wanted, but we figured we'd wait a few years and talk about it again. After M turned 2 it seemed like 3 was out of the question. As we found out a few months ago God had other plans lol!

Right now I'm 16 weeks, I'm feeling pretty good, as long as I have lots of little snacks during the day. My biggest "issue" right now is my blood pressure, cuz of being pregnant I can't be on my blood pressure meds so that means I have a higher risk of my pressure dropping and fainting. I've seen my heart dr already and I just have to keep doing what I'm doing, but I also can't stand still for long periods of time(my limit is about 15mins before I feel faint). Right now that's my biggest challenge, I try and do the dishes when there is only a few, and dinners I try and keep simple things that I don't have to stand there and watch very much.

The kids seem pretty excited about the baby. I don't think M full understands yet. I got the baby a "dresser"(it's a three drawer plastic storage thing) and put some of her old toys in one of the drawers, and we talk about how everything in that is for the baby and now she'll say "That's for the baby". N is super cute about it. He always says "your baby", I think cuz his teacher is pregnant too and that's way. We've been talking about where the baby is going to sit in the car the last few days. Yesterday he told me "Mommy I want to sit in the middle so I can watch M and the baby and make sure she doesn't open the door". Then today he told me "Mommy I changed my mind. I think the baby should sit in the middle. I don't want her to open the door and fall out and get hurt." How sweet is that!?

Next friday we find out what we are having I'm so excited I can't wait! We are bring both the kids so that will be fun. N got to come when we found out about M so I wanted to make sure they could come this time too.

Been awhile!

Wow it has been awhile since I blogged! I always think about it when I'm at the store, driving to play dates, but by the time I get to the computer I just get on facebook play my games and get lost, or end up playing wow and getting lost in that lol! I've also been working on some baby blankets to sell on my etsy store one boy and one girl. I think they are really cute!

So lets see this year so far....we are 3months in and it's been a good year crazy lots of surprises, but good.

In January N turned 5, I still can't believe he's 5! He had a nice little party at home with some of his friends, it was Transformer theme again. This year I tried some games let me tell you that was hard, trying to get 3-5 year olds to listen cramped in the house(cuz it had rained that night and the ground was still wet) was ruff. This is way I'm not a teacher lol!

In February, M had her test for school, she did awesome! You may not be able to understand the girl half the time(though shes getting better and has words now) the girl is smart! Her test lasted 2.5hrs cuz she just kept answering the questions right, so they had to keep going. Needless to say she's not in N's class. N was sad about that, but he's better now. So M now goes to "school" two days a week for 30mins-it's just speech and it's with N's speech teacher which is pretty cool.

That brings us to March, which is when M started "school" on Tuesday. And yes I turned the big 3 0 on Monday. Didn't do anything just hung out at home with the kids and hubby, I got to lay around in PJ's all day, and Hubby dropped N off and picked him up from school even went and got Panara soup for dinner-which is what I wanted :)! It was a great day. I still don't feel 30, but I guess that's a good thing right!

Christmas 2009

Since I'm up and haven't gotten around to writing about our Christmas I guess I'll do it now :). We had a great Christmas. The kids as always got tons of toys and spent the whole day playing with them! This year we realized that M's opening style is way different than N's. She opens a present then looks it over enjoying the new toy for a few moments(usually just by looking at it and the pictures on the box) then she'll move on to the next one and repeat. N he ripes off wrapping paper like no ones business(M is also much more "gentle" with the removing of the wrapping) then he'll get excited about he new toy and move on. They had the same number of presents, but N was done and M still had 4 left! N finally asked her if he could help her(at this point she was getting a little tired of opening, which I thought was funny) He pretty much opened the rest of her presents as she looked on riping off piece here and there it was really cute!

N showing me the bakugan that came with this awesome display case
M opening her DS, she didn't really know what it was till I took it out of the box then she was all over it lol!
N and his DS he got a Transformer cover for it too!
This is the point that M was getting tired of opening and just wanted to play see the presents still behind her?!
N helping M unwrap the rest of her presents
N as BumbleBee!
The kids playing their DS' for the first time! Daddy was very excited lol
M really getting into the game.

Lacking in Posts

I've been lacking in the posting again, I know. Really I think about it when I'm just about to fall asleep, some days it's fun stuff, but the last week it hasn't been. Every Christmas since my mom passed I get a little depressed around the Holidays, usually it's around Thanksgiving, and lasts a few weeks, by the time Christmas is close I've got a handle on it. This year has been a good year, I even made it through July pretty good. The last 4 days, have been rough, it's not a terrible depression(I've had it worse before), but I feel it. I'm so excited for Christmas, but so very sad inside too! I miss my mom, I miss my family! I really wish my brother and Sarah could make it down here. Really I wish I could spend one holiday with my brother, I don't even remember the last holiday I got to spend with him was! I'm really glad I got all my Christmas shopping done early, cuz I really don't want to go out.
That's pretty much been life around here. Last week was crazy! M had her normal speech therapy, then we added a new group speech/OT class, plus her OT eval, and the school eval to see where she may be "placed" in April. To top it off we had two birthday parties! It was a good week, but CRAZY!! I know you are wondering...OT eval was good, they want her to go twice a week to work on the small skills she's still behind it, though over all she's pretty much on target. The school eval was good, I was very afraid they would want to place her the next week, but they don't(wipe brow). Unfortunately she's still on the fence about where she'll be placed, it depends on how she test on her over all skills, if her OT "issues" affect her learning then she'll be placed in a full time school('s class, which she already knows the teachers and her brother is there), if not then she'll be in part time school(two or three days a week for a few hrs) I'm still on the fence about which one I feel better about, but it comes down to which will be better for her over all, and how she scores. She'll have that test in Feb some time.

Is school in the future?

I guess at some point M will be going to school right? I'm just not so sure about now! Why am I talking about this you ask? Cuz tomorrow morning we have an appointment to meet with the school district program about where to place M. Right now she's in the Early Steps program, but when she turns 3 the school program takes over. She is over 2.5 now so we have an appointment to see how to transition her into the new program.
I am so beyond nervous, I don't know what you would call it. I half want to cry, half want to curl up in a ball and forget this is about to happen. Why? I'm not 100% sure. I guess you could say cuz I have know clue what they will say, then add in my own fears for her, and what I feel she needs, top that off with not knowing if they can fill what I would love for her to have. N's eval wasn't this bad, I sort of know he would go to a school(the whole 5 full days was a shocker), but I also know that would be best for him and he would love it. Which he does! M, 1yr ago, I though she would be ok with school at 2.5yrs old. Now I'm not so sure, I don't think she'd do good without me for that long. Trust me I think she needs some time away from me and with other kids more, but I don't think she could handle being without me for that long. I know that sounds crazy, but she depends on me for so much, help get her dressed, calm her down.....I just don't know. Then add in that she finally got OT back, how are they going to work that? She really needs it. I'm just so nervous I guess we will see how it goes.
