Tonight I made fondant! And had powdered sugar all over the kitchen, almost killed my kitchen aid mixer, learned I don't own a strainer, and realized I really really need to make or by an apron, but I made fondant and so far it seemed to turn out pretty good! Last year during my cake decorating classes I worked with fondant a little and it seemed pretty fun, but the Wilton premade was not very good at all, it was not edible. At one point I did try and make fondant, but didn't have a double boiler(tried it with two pans and it just didn't work well) and it still didn't turn out right. I just left it at that figured I would figure something out when I needed to.
Wilton came out with the 2010 cake book so I picked it up(I have to get it every yr :)!), N looked through it with me and this year they have transformer cakes. Well he wants one of them(of course!) and it's covered in fondant, so with the Fourth of July coming up I figured I would try my hand at fondant again, this time with a double boiler and a new recipe. I think I could have used more vanilla, but so far it's seems to be pretty good, and it's much easier to work with then the other batch I made last yr. I have to wait at lest 24hr to use it, so for the moment it's sitting on the counter in a plastic bag.

TRANSFORMERS!!
In case you didn't know today Transformers II came out. We were planing on going to see it on Saturday with N, but hubby was able to work something out at work so he could be off so we could go this afternoon. We left M with Grandpa and N, hubby, and I went to the 4:40 showing. It amazingly wasn't to crowded, there was a lot of people but it was comfortable. (though when we where leaving it was crazy busy!) You know when everyone still has a seat or two between each group of people. About halfway through N did have to go potty, but let me tell you I've never seen the boy run so fast to the bathroom or pee so fast! He wanted to get back as fast as he could! At one point he did want to go home, but (not to give anything away)someone died and he wasn't happy. We got him to want to keep watching and he was very excited about the ending! N impress the people behind us, at one point, before you could really see which character they where showing, N goes "Megatron!" Hubby said they made a comment about how he knew all the names. N was sort of quite through most of it every once in awhile he would talk a little loud where the people behind us could here him(not to bad for a four yr old if you ask me). Except at the end when there is a plane he made a big comment about it, it was really cute and funny! He was so excited about that part. When we where leaving there was a little boy(about N's age) sitting with his dad waiting for the next show. He was wearing an Optimus Prime costume and N goes, look Mommy, and Daddy he's got Optimus like me! Afterwards, we went to BK for dinner, cuz they have transformer toys(and you could win a camero :)!) so N got an extra treat!

Early Present
When we where in Chicago my brother showed hubby his RC cars and he fell in love. He's always liked RC cars, but he's always only gotten the "cheap" ones from toys r us or target. I've known about the "big dogs" ones for many years(because of my bro), I just never really elaborated about it. Anywho, since we've been back hubby's been talking about wanting one pretty much everyday. It's really cute he's like a little kid that really wants something for their birthday and that's all they can talk about. Today I "let" him go get his birthday/father's day present early. He was very excited! As soon as we got home and M to nap he was off and "running" to get it all open and charged up.
The first thing he wanted me to do was take a picture of it and text my brother so he could show him. My brother's been a huge help to him, hubby's been calling him and asking him all about parts and batteries. It's a really nice car, it can go up to 70mph, but right now hubby has it on Trial til he gets better at the controls. If you watch the video you'll see it's still really fast.Poor Cody is scared of the thing, he doesn't even want to be outside when it's running. I'm sure at some point we will be getting into the rc racing circuit, but hopefully not for at lest a few months :)!

Cody
So Yes we have a new addition to our family! Cody, he's a shih tzu/yorkie mix, called a Shorkie. I know I know I got a small dog! He just melted my heart, and the kids. I think he's getting to hubby's too though I'm sure he will not admit it. Even Grandpa loves him! He's just a great puppy, he loves everyone, and so far he's been a dream. He wines a little usually if we have to put him in his crate or carrier, and it's just for a few mins. He's only barked a few times and that was at Noel cuz she jumped on our bed and he wanted to play with her. He does get car sick, so yes it was an interesting trip home. House training is going pretty good I think, I do have to go out and get him a new harness for walking the one we have just doesn't seem to work well, which stinks cuz it matched his collar and leash, but I'll live. I even got him a tag to match them, it's so cute!
We HAD to get this toy for him, it's just like the one from Bolt! And it's his fav now go fig!
This is how he lays waiting for Noel to play with him

Vacation
Is was a very busy week home, but it was great! We are so happy to be home in are own beds, but at the same time missing all our family and friends! We started off the week first with a visit from Aunt Cole, which the kids got some belated birthday presents they where very happy and so I so they had more toys to play with. Then it was off to our nephews first Communion party. We didn't get to stay as long as we would have liked since the kids(really all of us) where very tired from our flight. The next day we got to meet up with them again so the kids could play together. Hubby got a special treat of being able to take our nephew to get some video game stuff. Uncle Mike was very happy to drive him and help him pick out what he needed/wanted. N and M had a ball!
T showing M which flowers she can pick
N showing us he can meditate...we didn't know till now it was quite cute
Getting ready for bed
Monday our friend Elise came to the hotel with her two little ones. It was great to see them. After that we got to meet up with one of my brother and mine old babysitters which was a real treat for me.
Tony, Melissa, and Me(we didn't even plan the shirts)
Tuesday the kids and I went to my friend Wendy's house for a play date, while hubby went shopping for shoes and pants for the wedding. That only lasted for about an hr when N decided he wanted daddy to the point he was in tears, so daddy came and picked him up and finished his shopping. I found out later that N fell asleep about 15mins after daddt picked him up.
Wednesday we meet up with hubby's grandma. We went to a Lithuanian restaurant and had some great food. The kids got to hang out at Great Grandma P's house for awhile, which they loved. Later that night Sarah came and picked me up and we meet up with 3 of the other bridesmaids to get our nails done. It was a great time with my (then)soon-to-be-sister.
Thursday was just a crazy day! We had to pack everything up, check out of the hotel, run over to Sarah and Tony's place, pick up my dresses, hubby's shirt for the wedding, M's dress for the wedding, and our shoes. Then head to the new hotel, check in, get ready for rehearsal, and then find the church for rehearsal. We made it through with out really feeling to rushed either, and had a great time at rehearsal and the dinner.
Friday.....Wedding day! It was great hubby dropped N and I at Sarah's parents house in the morning, him and M hung out all day til it was time for the wedding. While I got my hair done, and then N and I got ready with the all the bridesmaids and Sarah. It was lots of fun! Then it was wedding time! I lost it as soon as we got to the church, but recovered after I saw my Aunt Karen and Tony. After that I didn't cry at all, though I wouldn't look at my brother the whole ceremony and the bridesmaid behind me keep reminding me "Don't look at your brother" it was funny! It was a beautiful ceremony and a fun reception. Unfortunately the kids died out right after we had our brother/sister dance so I didn't get to go dancing:(!
Before I got the vest, tie, and jacket on. My little stud muffin
N in his tux~He was so darn cute
Sarah wearing our mom's anklet
Tony and Sarah got N(all the kids) camera's for being in the wedding, N LOVES his and he was "taking" pictures the whole time-unfortunately he ran out of film the night before so he's just clicking to nothing in this picture:(
Their cake topper~it's just purrfect for them
The New Couple
Saturday, we got up and N got to go down and have breakfast with Uncle Tony and Aunt Sarah. We then packed and headed out to another party. The party was lots of fun, but the best part was we ended up getting a puppy! He's so darn cute and the kids love him exceptionally N. More on him later. We then flew home which are flight was delayed and we didn't get home till well after 1am. Along with that we(ok I) managed to lose our camera on the plane which I'm still so upset with myself about. We called the airlines but they found nothing and we where the last flight of the day, so it's gone. I am upset about the camera cuz I loved it, but I'm just sick to my stomach about all the pictures of the wedding I lost. Thankfully a lot of the bridesmaids got some good ones of N, Sarah, and Tony, but I lost all the ones of M and she looked so darn cute! We ended up running out to best buy and getting a new camera today, cuz well, I don't think they are going to find ours and we have a new puppy I have to have a camera to capture all the moments with the kids!
