Yesterday~ok really I've been thinking about it for a week now, but yesterday it really hit me. I got this thought, since M didn't get into the pre-k program at the school, and we can't afford a private pre-k program, what am I going to do? I work with her a little here and there on her letters, number, and colors, but nothing really planned, it's more just working with her when we see them or playing. So a few days ago one of the blogs I follow she was talking about homeschooling, which I've hear about(really who hasn't), but I think cuz she's doing it for kindergarten and pre-k, it sort of stuck in my mind. Then yesterday my friend C was saying how she wanted to work with her son more on writing letters cuz he was really getting curves. And it was like BOOM!! homeschooling M! So I started with that looked at one of my mommy sites and found this group of moms that homeschool prek. They gave me lots of great ideas and websites to find craft projects and worksheets. That's when I decided that I would "homeschool" M pre-k. I say "homeschool" like that cuz I don't think how I'm going about it is really true homeschool, or maybe it is? I don't feel it is cuz I'm only going to work with her on a few things and make it pretty light mostly crafts and coloring, maybe a few trips to the store to look at things that go with what we are working on.
My plan!
Each week for the next 4 weeks we are going to work on one letter, number, and color per week. Just doing one project/thing per day that goes with each thing. Then when N is off school(we'll have more time at home) we'll do two letters, one number, and one color per week. N loves craft projects so I know he'll have fun, I'll let him cut his own letters out, make it more challenge for him. I also got both kids 3 ring binders so after they color the letter/numbers they can put then in there so they will have an alphabet/number book by the end of the summer. Once school starts again I'll go back through them with M doing different projects and maybe adding a shape and animal to the week too. I'm going to try and post about our week every Friday or weekend, hopefully to get other people ideas like how I got ideas from other bloggers(I'll post links when I do the projects :)!)
I'm also wanting to try this to see if I can homeschool. N takes after his daddy in learning. He picks things up quickly(most of the time) but he needs to be challenged, and if he's not he loses interest and starts saying he's tired or "acts up"(pretends to be bugs or super heroes). He's starting it already at school now, us and his teachers can tell he's ready for kindergarten, cuz he want to sit and do work he doesn't want to do the little kid songs any more. So we really want to make sure he's challenged in school so he doesn't go down the path like hubby and get himself in trouble. If it starts looking like it we may homeschool him, it's just something we have out there just in case we need it. Thankfully his teacher now realizes what he needs and has already had a meeting with the kindergarten teachers about hopefully getting him in with this one teacher that is harder(challenging for him). Well see, right now he's not really liking school all the time cuz of it~well that and that he's getting a baby brother, he's been wanting to spend a lot of one on one time with mommy and daddy. We think he's trying to get all his time in now cuz with M, she was such a needing baby always wanting to be held, he didn't get a lot of one on one time with me.

Our new addition is....
Yesterday I had the ultrasound to check on the baby make sure everything looked good and measured right. It was also the ultrasound to see what the sex of the baby is.
When we first got there the tech asked us if we wanted to find out the sex hubby and I said yes. Of course I was a little more admit about the yes lol! The tech told us(I think it was more as a pre-warning) that it would still be another 25-30 mins before we would find out since the legs are the last thing she measures. I should say that that morning N didn't not want to go see pictures of the baby, but I told him I really wanted him to go with me, so he went though not very excited about it. So the tech starts gels up my tummy, and then starts looking around. N at this point goes "what's that?" The tech tells him the baby, now he gets excited! He said "that's your baby mommy?"(he's still using the "your baby" lol). M is interested, but the tech hadn't really gotten a good profile picture that you could really see a baby, so M was just copying her brother's oo's and cool's. The tech is going about measuring and labeling things for the dr and then about 10mins in I hear hubby go "That looks like a boy to me!" I was looking at the kids at that moment so I look up at the same time the tech goes "Yep that's a boy!" So I told N "looks like you get your brother", him and daddy high five it was so cute and funny! Needless to say that this little one is just like his brother and wanted to make sure we know right away he was a boy lol! Right after that the tech got a good profile and you could hear M go "look a baby" then she looked at my tummy and goes "mommy the baby's in your tummy?" like she finally understood were this baby that we are always telling her about is. The kids did really good after about 15mins they were getting a little antsy so hubby gave them some candy I had in my purse to keep them entertained. The baby for the most part behaved and the tech was able to get all the measurements without much issue. She did have a little trouble getting a good shot of left side of the baby's heart, cuz of the way he was laying, but she finally got it. The ultrasound only took about 35mins and they schedule it for an hr so that's pretty good I think.
So to conclude we will be adding Logan Anthony to our little family in September! We are so excited!
